It seems this is the master ticket for this feature since it has the most “relates to” links. I added a couple more that I’ve found.
Just chiming in here to see if there’s any interest in implementing this feature?
To give my own personal use case, I write a blog, and one of the things that social media websites support is a banner photo (like when you paste a link into Twitter, and it pulls a preview image). The banner photos are a fixed size of 1200x627, and usually it’s something on my screen that I want to screenshot to make the banner photo.
I love using Greenshot, but for this particular use, it’s painful to use. I have to try over and over to get my first click just right in order for my banner picture to look the way I want.
My other use case is exactly as the original story, which to ensure my screenshots posted to my blog are of a uniform size.

This would be a fantastic feature. I often need a screen shot at a specific size. The ability to have the capture region displayed at that size, then be able to resize my windows to match before snapping would be simply awesome.

Hello Jens,
Any word on this? I use greenshot all the time and this sure would be nice. Seems like some others would like this feature as well. Any idea on when this will be implemented? Thanks a bunch!

I agree, this would be a nice thing to have. There are a few feature requests going into a similar direction (i.e. requiring some kind of interactivity for region selection).
I'll link them to this task for future reference, because they are related.
But this will probably have to wait for Greenshot 2.x, as this requires quite some changes in the user interface.
We'll keep this ticket updated when there are news.
Thanks again, best regards,
Jens
It would be really nice to be able to pre-set the size of the capture region. So the green box representing the capture region shows and you can move it around the screen . When you click it takes the screen capture. That way you know when you paste the images into your report they will be the same size with the same resolution.
