Capturing Cursor While Hovering Dialogue Box

Description

Hey Greenshot! Love the program, just noticed something interesting:

I was taking a screenshot in which I was purposefully hovering my mouse of a dialogue/textbox, which changed the cursor from a pointer to "text select", and when I looked at the resulting image, the cursor was faded white and hardly noticeable. At first I thought it was gone and I had accidentally turned off the "show cursor" setting.

So I did some testing...

Greenshot - Shows a faded, white text cursor
Pickpic - Shows text cursor fine
LightScreen - Shows text cursor fine
LightShot - Shows text cursor fine
Snipping Tool - Never displays any cursors
Windows PrntScrn - Never displays any cursors

I used irfanview to look at images, all were .png format, all settings had "show cursor" enabled (if that was an option).

Not really a big deal, just super curious as to what causes that?

Anyway, thanks again! Love the software.

Hi Bram,

This is actually a know issue, I should have copied the "known" issues, in the readme.txt, from older versions to the current version
Greenshot general: a captured I-Beam cursor isn't displayed correctly on the final result.

Anyway, define "Shows text cursor fine"... The problem with the "I-Beam", this is what it is called, is that it is inverting the color of the pixels below it. If you look closely on your screen and move the cursor, you will see that when the cursor moves over text, that part is white and the white part of the background becomes black. If PicPick shows it like this, and not all black, than it "shows text cursor fine".

Due to a drawing issue with the technology we use, it shows "white". But I agree that it is not satisfactory, probably it would be better if the cursor is black instead,,,

I have ignored this issue for long, maybe I have another try of making it work (or black).

P.S.
In the Greenshot editor the cursor can be moved, removed or resized.

Best wishes,
Robin
