Capture Region as Default

Why don't you use the hotkeys? The PrntScrn key starts a region capture.
Sorry, I was not specific. Just as you have a default destination that once selected is not part of the mouse selection work flow for a screen capture, I am looking for a way to make the Capture Region a default where I don’t have to select it every time before proceeding to select a region on the screen to captured. Then, the greenshot capture process would be simply to invoke the greenshot system tray icon, go right to the target screen area, click twice to select an area that would then be sent to the clipboard (since I have copy to clipboard selected as by default destination) and paste the clipboard contents into an application of my choosing. The current workflow requires that I invoke the greenshot icon, then select manually click the Capture Region option explicitly (at the top of the dialog box) every time before going to the targeted screen area to be captured and selecting the area of interest. This simple setting would save time needed to find the instantiated dialog box then click the Capture Region option every time before proceeding. The Capture Region choice is my choice for the type of capture that I want to perform in 99.99% of captures that I make - which is a substantial number while working online courses.
I’m not sure what you mean, capture region is the default when you use the print screen key. It’s also on top in the context menu… So you must mean something else, please elaborate.
How do I make 'Capture Region' the default option for the first selection in the Greenshot process?
