Thank you both for keeping us updated
For better clarity, I’ll close this one as a duplicate of - please refer to the latter for any updates. Thanks again.

@jens - I am going to read the other bug ticket thread and see if there is a good workaround.
@nicolas - I do indeed have VMWare Workstation running. I use VMWare workstation and I had no issues with it and Greenshot for years; this problem suddenly started (around when I first commented, mid July) I certainly hope that Greenshot is no longer able to run if there is a virtual machine running …

Hi Jens,
please close this issue.
I have let a comment on the other ticket to help others, for me it is VirtualBox that is conflicting with greenshot, the app will start behaving badly once a VM is started.

Thanks for reporting this + recording a detailed video
This looks quite similar to what has been reported here:
you might want to have a look at the comments section of the other bug ticket, it seems to be an interference with snipping tool and obviously other users managed to workaround this issue, which is described in the discussion.
If you agree that it is the same issue, we might close this one.

fixed for me as of today. Did not change much. I am not even sure if I had a graphic card update. But anyway it is working…
So basically capture region seems completely broken since yesterday. I saw some tickets about it but I thought I would do a video in case you cannot reproduce it. Sorry I had to record on my main monitor which is quite big in resolution. If you cannot read something just let me know.
