Hi Jens,
You wrote the script, any chance of making it output the uploaded URL before any others?

Accidently marked it closed! Please reopen if possible.

Yep, this is the one that I used: http://getgreenshot.org/2013/11/07/how-to-upload-screenshots-to-a-web-server-via-ftp-scp-or-sftp/

I guess you are using the external command with a script you either wrote or copied somewhere. Now Greenshot will scan the output of the script and take the first URL it finds to place on the clipboard.
I guess the URL on the clipboard is something like sftp://host ...
If you can modify the script to not output the connection URL first, or at least only does this only in case of an error... everything is probably alright.
Without seeing the output or script it I hard to guess.
When exporting to an external application, in my case exporting to SFTP, it does not give me a url in my clipboard, rather it just uploads the file and closes, meaning that I have to log into an FTP client to access the screenshot and get a URL that way.
It gives me the SFTP address that it used to access it, rather than the URL it is uploaded to.
It is worth noting the I followed GreenShot's guide on uploading a file to the server.
