Hello Claudio,
thanks for the donation, but more importantly I am happy that you found the issue!!
We (internally) need to think about solutions for this, having other applications who also use the same key is a cause for quite a lot of Greenshot issues.
The biggest problem is: that if we register the PrintScreen key it is impossible for other applications to use the SAME technology with the same key, BUT there are other technologies
Anyway, I will close the ticket.
Happy Greenshotting!
Robin

It´s me again - and now I managed to find the application listening to the printscreen key. It is an addition to my samsung printer utility enabled by default:
After disabling Easy Capture Manager in "Samsung Easy Printer Manager" Greenshot default settings can be restored and it works like a charm!
Thanks again for your great help, Robin.
BTW: I installed 1.2.6 Build 5 and it worked as well as the 1.2.4 version after I tried your workaround with the printscreen key.
As far as I am concerned I would kindly ask you to close the issue, as it´s not really a bug and it´s resolved now
Kind regards
Claudio

Hello Robin,
Neither do I care about an icon - just thought it could be important
regarding your questions:
only the cursor moves (in form of a little crosshair). The big magnified crosshair is frozen.
changing the PrintScreen Key to sth. else did the job. I can´t imagine which other application uses this key, but finally I got Greenshot running on my company computer, too.
It has been really annoying that my preferred screenshot tool did not work till present, but fortunately these times are over
Thank you very much for your valuable help!
Best wishes
Claudio

In the mean time I have made some small improvements which might help to identify the issue.
If possible, can you install 1.2.6.5 (or later) to a PC which has this issue?
The download should be available here in ~20 minutes from now: http://sourceforge.net/projects/greenshot/files/Greenshot/Greenshot%201.2/

Hello Claudio,
Thanks for reporting this as a separate issue.
That our capture form has a default icon comes from the fact that we never cared about an icon, even if you "alt-tab" you will come back to the capture form.
But I guess it won't hurt
So here some questions:
You can move the crosshair around, do the lines and magnification also move? Or only the cursor.
Can you try to change the PrintScreen key to something else, maybe another application listenes to the PrintScreen key and is trying to do something at the same time. Maybe a list of the running processes will give you insight into what is running at the time.
Best wishes,
Robin
when I press the prtscn key to capture a region the crosshair lens comes up and freezes.
the mouse arrow turns into a small crosshair and cannot be used anymore, only moved around.
the only way to get out of this is to bring up task manager with CTRL-ALT-DEL and end the task "Greenshot Capture Form"
It does not have the greenshot icon but the standard exe icon in task manager........
Please find attached the latest Greenshot.log file.
Please note: This issue does not affect every installation of Windows 7 enterprise 64 bit!
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Claudio
