I used your prog for a while. Nice one! Lately I got the message that the prtscrn hotkeys were occupied by another program.
I tried with http://hkcmdr.anymania.com/ hotkey explorer to find the cause of the problem, but it did not show another tool (see attached screenshot). When I pushed printscreen, it appeared that dropbox suddenly invented a new feature, printscreen to dropbox. See: https://www.dropbox.com/help/1964/en
You can easily disable it by clicking ‘no thank you’. From then it works as designed.
I could not find this info on your website yet.
Thanks a lot for reporting this, that sure is good to know!
In addition to that, please note that you HAVE to trigger the Dropbox-Feature at least once by pressing the PrintScreen button, although the feature might be disabled in the Dropbox settings. Otherwise, Dropbox will still keep the keyboard hook.
Thanks for giving me an idea… I found I was running into a similar problem over the last few weeks and narrowed it down to OneDrive. (It must have happened after a OneDrive update.) To resolve, I had to enable and then disable the “Automatically save screenshots I capture to OneDrive” setting.
Thanks for all your valuable input. I assume some people will continue to stumble over this, as some tools seem to be pretty intransparent about their hotkey registrations. We have added an entry to our FAQ section some time ago, so I think we can mark this ticket as resolved: https://getgreenshot.org/faq/my-prntscreen-key-no-longer-works-with-greenshot/
