Troubles while pasting an image to a web ticketing system

Description

Hello,

I have started using a web based ticketing system called OTRS, but it does not accept the paste of an image on it, while using IE or Chrome.

Searching on internet I have found this: http://sourceforge.net/p/greenshot/bugs/1372/

But I do have the same problems if I change the setup, it works on OTRS, but I am no longer able to paste on Microsoft Word.

Have You found any fix for that?

I was checking for alternative solutions, and I found this opensource project:

http://supa.sourceforge.net/

May be You could use the same techniques?

Thanks for your great work!
Bye

Before I forget, what version of Greenshot are you using?
What combinations did you test, and what works with OTRS?

Hello,

sorry if I have not been specific on my ticket, here are the missing info:

Greenshot 1.1.4 BuiId 2622 (64 bit)
Windows 7
Word 2010

Settings/ Expert, and I marked the following options:

Device Indipendent Bitmap
HTML with inline images
PNG

Doing in this way, the paste action works on OTRS 3.2, but not on Microsoft Word 2010.

I tried to do what You suggested, and using the function to export to Word, choosing the document I want the image to go, it works, but I first have to position the cursor on the document where I want the image to go.

Let's say that pasting on the fly is easier than using the export to Word, so if Greenshot could do that, the better!

Thanks for the alternative solution.

Bye

What works for me with Gmail, I don't have OTRS, is using Chrome and set Greenshot to use the "Windows Bitmap" format. This also works for Microsoft Word.

I had issues with Firefox, the emails contained the image but wasn't shown... In the Browser, but it worked with another client.

And with Internet Explorer 10 nothing worked, so do not use this.

See if this helps!

P.s.
Only use Windows Bitmap as format, if you add anything else the results will vary. E.g. word only takes HTML even if other formats are available.

Hello,

I have tried with "Windows Bitmap" only, but it doesn't paste anything on OTRS.

Therefore I think I will get back to the options:

Device Indipendent Bitmap
HTML with inline images
PNG

In this way the image gets pasted to OTRS editor, provided that the image does not exceed a certain size ( I don't know which size yet), otherwise an empty object is pasted (very funny behaviour).

I think it has to do with base64 string encoding and IE size limit, couldn't find yet a workaround....

And then when I need to past to Word I will use the export function You suggested me.

Thanks
Bye
