Install manual for scripting
I would like to create a installation script to deploy the tool through SCCM. Do you maybe have a installation guide to install the tool with command lines?
Is the tool also available as a MSI file?
Is it possible to install the .exe through command line? If yes, is it also possible to install silently through command line?
Greenshot in it’s current form hardy does anything during the installation, see here: https://getgreenshot.org/faq/what-exactly-does-the-exe-installer-do/
As we cannot support all possible ways to install, we have a .zip file. See here: https://getgreenshot.org/faq/in-which-cases-should-i-use-the-zip-package-instead-of-the-installer/
This sounds like a typical commercial question, having a “.msi” would mean for us to loose a tiny bit of ad revenue (the “thank you for installing website”) as this is not supported to open and we don’t like ads in the application ourselves. More on that here:
Hope this information helps?
Questions from our side:
Would you use the Microsoft store (not talking about a price, but in general), if an official package would be available? Or is SCCM your place to go?
We wonder why businesses use Greenshot (motivation, e.g. free or open source).
What would convince your business to pay for Greenshot? Background: We currently get more from private persons (in form of donations), than from commercial usage (businesses). But the later actually cause way more work for us, making/keeping Greenshot “enterprise” ready and the support questions are quite substantial.
