Expand borders or allow editing "outside" of image

Description

Often I find myself with a clipboard image that is too small to add counters or other symbols in. Then I usually want to add the counters "outside" of the image and then add an arrow pointing towards some element in the image.

Currently, it is not possible to add anything outside of the pasted image. So I am forced to open the image in some other editor, increase the image size, center the clipboard contents in the image, and copy it back to greenshot.

Example (see image below); I want to add a counter at the cursor position. But since it is "outside" of the image, it cannot be done. I would like to see a feature to expand the image size (but not scale). Or (even better) be able to add symbols "outside" of the image and have greenshot automatically resize the image so all symbols etc are inside the image.
