Windows 10 send E-Mail is not working anymore

Description

On Windows 10 we are not able to send E-Mail directly form Greenshot.
It seems that detection of the current mapi client or standard email client is not working.
For example the Windows 10 standard "Sent to -> E-Mail Recipient" Explorer context menu entry which also uses mapi works correctly.
On Windows 7 64Bit with current patches the detection seems to work correctly and GroupWise is listed in the Greenshot context menu.

I would be very nice if this for many of our users very useful feature will work again.
If we can help to speedup anything regarding this issue please simply contact us.

Environment

Windows 10 1909 64Bit with current patches
Greenshot versions 1.2.10 Build 6 and 1.3.151
GroupWise 18.2.1 Client

Thanks for the feedback, this helps us a lot.
This means that the needed functionality is first available with the 1.3 release, we don't have a timeline yet.
There are some blockers, mainly the code signing certificate story.

Closing this now.

Best wishes,
Robin

The new version you have released works like a charm. Thanks for your quick response.

About the registry keys from earlier: Yes, we checked both registry paths, the 32bit and the 64bit.

And as you already expected both registry keys - 32 and 64 bit - look like this:

I just pushed another fix, one doing things differently. With 1.3.57 I use the keys mentioned above, try it out. I would still like to see your values though!

I hope you checked both keys, otherwise that information would be invalid. I assume you did, to be able to continue, but if you didn’t please check both.

This is interesting, maybe we should follow a new tactic.

Can you check the registry for the default value, named “(default)” below, please make sure you give me both:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Clients\Mail

I’d expect it to say something like “GroupWise”

For me the WOW6432 version it looks like this, the without WOW6432 looks exactly the same:

Unfortunately, this value does not exist in our Windows 10 environment.
However, this value is present by default in Windows 7.
As soon as we create the "MAPI=1" value in the registy under Windows 10, the
email function works again.
