I just downloaed the leatest version of Greenshot (1.1.5.2643) but crash at startup on my win 7 64bit. Dotnet framework 4.0 is installed and the only windows i can see is "Greenshot has stopped working".
What can i check to run the program? Thank you.
Hi,
Greenshot should work fine with .NET 4.0 and Windows 7 64-bit so there might be something special to your PC.
Here some questions:
Did you use the installer or did you download the zip?
Just in case.... where did you download from?
Can you start manually via the start menu?
Best wishes,
Robin
Hi Robin,
I tried both installer and zip with portable version with same result and i cannot start it via start menu...
I downloaded it from here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/greenshot/files/latest/download
My pc works fine with .Net Framework 4.0 as i am using it every day without any problems. Is there anything else to check? Some log file?
My installation was done with default settings.
Thanks!
Is there someone who can help in this issue? Thanks!
Sorry, I was a bit occupied...
When "Greenshot has stopped working" comes, this is an OS message and means that Greenshot itself didn't even have a change to load everything correctly as we catch every error as soon as Greenshot is running.
I don't have an easy solution, your setup seems to be a exception to the rule...
It sounds to me like there is something with the .NET installation, or somehow windows can't find some files belonging to Greenshot. Did you install it to the default location or did you install it somewhere else (network drive)? Did you install it as a different user?
You said that you tried the .ZIP, so you extracted all files somewhere (please do make sure its installed/extracted to a local file system!!) and double-click on the greenshot.exe and you get the "Greenshot has stopped working" error?
Best wishes,
Robin
Hi turlte,
Anything new about this issue? Did you manage to get this sorted out?
Or do you have any additional information for us? Robin has suggested a few things above...
Thanks and best regards,
Jens
